UK Budget confirms Machine Games Duty rise to 25% for higher-stakes machines
The Treasury has confirmed Machine Games Duty will increase from 20% to 25% on higher-stakes machines, stopping short of the 40% rate floated before the Budget but drawing a sharp rebuke from the Betting and Gaming Council, which warned up to 1,000 betting shops and casinos could be at risk of closure.
