GamblingZine is an independent, international publication covering the business, regulation, technology, products, people and markets of the gambling and iGaming industry. This page explains who publishes it, who is editorially responsible, and how our AI-assisted newsroom works.
Ownership and operating company
GamblingZine is published and operated by Karlsson Consult i Örnsköldsvik AB, a company registered in Sweden (company registration number 559575-4580). GamblingZine is the publication and publisher brand; Karlsson Consult i Örnsköldsvik AB is the operating company. The publication has no ownership ties to gambling operators, suppliers or regulators, and no story is written or selected on behalf of a commercial client.
Editorial leadership
Sven Karlsson is the Editorial Lead of GamblingZine and the person responsible for its editorial standards, the review process described below, and the publication of every article. Articles produced through the newsroom’s AI-assisted workflow carry the GamblingZine Editorial Team byline rather than an individual’s name, because they are the output of a supervised editorial process, not of a single human writer. Editorial decisions — what to cover, what to hold back, and what to publish — are human decisions.
How the newsroom works
GamblingZine uses an AI-assisted editorial pipeline under human supervision. In outline:
- Discovery. Candidate stories are gathered from a curated list of approved industry sources and screened for genuine news value. Marketing, opinion and filler are declined at this stage.
- Editorial selection. A limited number of candidates are admitted each day. Routine developments are covered proportionately; important stories are never declined simply because a subject is already well represented.
- Research. Each admitted story is researched against primary and independent sources. Every factual statement is recorded as a claim tied to the evidence that supports it, with the time of retrieval preserved.
- Writing. Articles are drafted only from supported claims. Nothing may be introduced that is not in the evidence record.
- Fact-checking. A separate verification step checks every claim. Sensitive claims — about enforcement, allegations, financial figures and similar — must rest on an official primary source or independent corroboration. Where that standard is not met the story is held for human review rather than published.
- Human review and approval. No article is published automatically. A human editor reviews the article, its sources and its verification record, and must explicitly approve publication.
Each article lists its sources, and carries a disclosure line stating that it was produced with AI assistance and reviewed under this process. Our full standards are set out in the Editorial Policy.
Corrections and updates
When we get something wrong, we say so. Material corrections are recorded in the article with a dated notice, and the article’s modification date is updated only when its substance changes. Articles that cannot be stood behind are withdrawn with an explanatory notice rather than quietly removed. The process is described in our Corrections Policy.
Independence and responsible gambling
GamblingZine reports on the gambling industry; it does not operate, promote or take commission from gambling products. We treat player protection and responsible gambling as a core subject of coverage, not an afterthought. Information for anyone affected by gambling harm is on our Responsible Gambling page.
