Corrections Policy

GamblingZine corrects errors promptly and visibly. This page explains what we correct, how a correction appears, and how to report one.

What we correct

  • Factual errors — incorrect figures, dates, names, attributions or descriptions of events — are corrected in the article as soon as they are confirmed.
  • Material omissions that change how a story would reasonably be understood are addressed with an update.
  • Minor typographical errors that do not affect meaning are fixed without a notice.

How a correction appears

  • A material correction or update is recorded in the article itself with a dated notice stating what was changed, so readers can see both the correction and when it was made.
  • The article’s published date is never altered. Its modification date is updated only when the substance of the article changes — not for incidental edits.
  • Correction notices are also included in the article’s machine-readable metadata, so search engines and other services see the same record readers do.

Withdrawals

If an article cannot be stood behind — for example because its central claim could not be verified or its sources proved unreliable — it is withdrawn with an explanatory notice. Withdrawn articles are removed from search indexing but are not silently deleted; the notice remains so that the record is transparent.

Reporting an error

If you believe something we have published is wrong, tell us through our contact page, including the article link and the source that supports the correction where possible. Corrections requests are reviewed by a human editor. The Editorial Lead, Sven Karlsson, is responsible for decisions under this policy.

Right of reply

People and organisations named in our reporting who believe they have been treated unfairly may ask for their response to be reflected. Where justified, we update the article and record the update.
