The GamblingZine Perspective is our independent editorial analysis: one substantial piece at a time, built on the evidence, willing to challenge the industry, regulators and received wisdom alike.
What it is
Where our news reporting tells you what happened, the Perspective asks what it means. Each edition takes a significant recent development, pattern or tension in the gambling industry, examines the relevant primary sources and research, develops a clear central argument, and tests that argument against the contrary evidence. Where the evidence supports it, we say what should change — in industry practice, regulation, technology or consumer protection — and we say plainly when a conclusion is a judgement rather than an established fact.
Principles
- Independent. We do not favour operators, regulators, suppliers, investors or any commercial interest, including our own.
- Evidence-driven. Factual claims are traceable to sources. Facts, interpretations, forecasts and editorial judgements are kept distinct.
- Open to counter-argument. A thesis that cannot survive the strongest opposing evidence is not published.
- Honest about uncertainty. We would rather publish nothing than manufacture a conclusion to meet a schedule.
How it is produced and reviewed
Perspectives are prepared with AI assistance inside the same research, evidence and fact-checking framework as our news reporting, and then reviewed by a human editor for two separate things: the accuracy of every factual claim, and the soundness and fairness of the argument. Nothing is published automatically. Editorial responsibility rests with the Editorial Lead, Sven Karlsson. Pieces carry the GamblingZine Editorial Team byline; we do not present them as the personal column of an invented commentator.
