Virgil van Dijk enters esports as Tundra shareholder

London-based esports organisation, Tundra Esports, has unveiled its latest shareholder and ambassador, the football world’s greatest central defender, Virgil van Dijk.

Van Dijk plays Premier League giants Liverpool, and also captains the Netherlands national team. Tundra boasts Europe’s No.1 ranked Dota 2 team, the reigning Fortnite Champion Series winners, and perhaps of most relevance, most teams in FIFA, a game that van Dijk has played since a young age.

Van Dijk says: “Tundra Esports is one of the fastest growing esports organisations in the world, and they are moving in a very exciting direction. They have built up a tremendous reputation when it comes to player well-being within a winning culture which is something that really resonates with me. I am excited for the future”.

Maxim Demin, co-founder of Tundra Esports, adds: “Having someone like Virgil, who is revered both on and off the pitch, join our team is incredible. His insight will be invaluable for our players, but also how we evolve as an organisation.”
