Damian Collins now heading up UK gambling review

Following the shake-up of ministerial roles and responsibilities following the resignation of UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, Damian Collins, the UK government’s new parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Online Safety, is now overseeing the Department for Digital, Culture, & Sport’s (DCMS) review of gambling legislation.

The UK government is still insisting that its gambling white paper containing its proposals for new legislation is “coming soon”, although outgoing Boris Johnson has suggested that there will be no new policy announcements until his successor is chosen, expected to be September.

Michael Dugher, Chief Executive of the Betting & Gaming Council (BGC), has congratulated Mr. Collins on his appointment, describing him as: “Highly rated and respected.”
